Snow science!
Snow Science was relevant to my life because I go snowboarding sometimes and I use water. It’s good to know about Avalanches for if you go out somewhere where there is avalanche territory, and in order to know all about Avalanches you need to know how they’re made, which then requires you to know how the snow is made, it’s kind of a cycle. Snow science is also relevant because part of Snow Science is learning about how it contributes to the water supply and that in turn affects the world we live in. I understand now that snow and water play an extremely important role in the American West. Snow makes rivers and creeks run higher when it melts, which in turn makes the dams have more water, however, people are taking way too much water out of the dams and the natural streams and rivers. If people keep doing what they’re doing we’re going to start running out of the most necessary of resources.
The 21st Century skill that I think I improved on the most was Independent Research. Especially for the project at the end where I did something that we didn’t talk about. I had to do research and make sure that it was accurate and that it came from an accurate source. The thing that I enjoyed was making the project at the end of this unit. There was freedom for what we could do and we could make sure that it was something that we were interested in. I really enjoyed this project and I didn’t have a thing I didn't like. There were parts a bit more interesting than others (lecture vs movies) however I understand that we can’t just watch movies so I can’t complain. Overall I really did like this project and especially the project at the end.
