TPOL PREP
9th Grade TPOL Questions
Spring 2015
Personal Connections and Adult World Connections:
1. Which project did you have the most personal connection with this year? Why?
I have had the most personal connection with the mask project. I was able to learn not only more about myself, but I was able to learn how to change and give myself more validation which led to ultimate self appreciation and a happier me.
2. What have you learned (skill, lesson, or knowledge) this year that will be most helpful for you in the future?
This year I learned that time management and priorities are extremely important because not only is it important for school work getting in on time, but it’s also important that you’re punctual to other extracurricular things such as soccer, meetings and turning in applications.
3. What project or projects have you done this year that have inspired you to want to learn more? Explain how you were inspired.
The video project has made me want to learn more is the video project. I knew a lot about the topic- Teen Suicide, but I always looked at it from a different perspective. Honestly, my perspective was never how to help, it was needing help. Doing this project made me want to learn how to help people that need it. I did a lot of research about what to say to someone and what makes it something where you need to get help and just the things that I wish people would know to say to me.
4. How has your attitude toward learning changed this year?
My attitude towards learning changed positively and then negatively. At the beginning of the year I didn’t wanna be here so I didn’t want to learn but then I did and at the end of the year I once again let my grades and quality of work be affected by my attitude.
5. What connections have you made this year between what you have learned in your classes and your own personal experiences outside of school?
In all of my classes collaboration is really important and it also is at home. To make a home and family work you have to be able to work together. If there is no collaboration it makes everything really difficult. On projects at school (such as the Design it clean and Shakespeare) if there is no collaboration everything just kinda goes to hell. Same thing at home, if you can’t get along with the people around you it all goes down in a ball of fire.
6. How have your learning and experiences at AHS this year changed the way you see the world?
The experiences here have taught me that in life you have to be adaptable. You must be open and ready for anything. You have to have a focal point when you’re going through something rough and you have to be able to talk about things.
VIDEO PROJECT
7. What work from this year would you like to look back on and remember when you are a graduating senior?
I will most definitely remember my video project. I will remember my video project because it was something I was really passionate about and I feel like it was also really high quality. I will most definitely work on refining it throughout my time here at Animas.
You as a Student and a Learner (Your Work and Your Work Habits):
1. What is the most important change that you have made as a learner this year?
My attitude. When I have a negative attitude my work comes out low quality. When I change my attitude my work improves.
COMPARE DA PROJECTS.
2. How have you taken an active role in your education this year?
I have advocated for myself and I have made sure that the work I do is high quality.
TALKING TO MATT AND LAUREN
3. What piece of work that you’ve done this year are you proudest of? Why?
My video project because it is the highest quality and it expresses my passion on the subject.
4. If you could go back and refine one piece of work this year, what piece of work would you refine and how would you refine it?
I would refine my Self Portrait in DA. I would refine it by giving myself more time to work on it and I would have my friends critique it. I think that it was rushed and since it was it wasn’t as beautiful as I could make it.
5. If you were the teacher, what comments would your teacher make about your work habits?
They would probably say that I have a problem turning things in on time

SMART GOAL
My goal for my second semester of my freshman year is to have all A’s. To ensure success I will employ my planner daily in order to effectively monitor all current compositions that require attention after school hours discontinue. I will additionally keep myself accountable with office hours shall I require extra assistance. In order to confirm that this goal is operating adequately for me I will do a grade check every Friday with my parents to ensure success.
